Backstage: Kurt Angle was shown backstage and Josh Mathews asked him why he attacked The Big Show and John Cena on Smackdown!? Kurt said don't you think The Big Show and John Cena should be explaining themselves? Incase you forgot, Kurt Angle was knocked out on Smackdown!. He doesn't know who did it, but common sense would say that one of them would do it to keep him out of the match tonight, which means it was either Big Show or John Cena. And if he doesn't make it to this match tonight, he doesn't get to go to Wrestlemania. John Cena showed up, saying "it's true, it's true." It's all about Wrestlemania and who gets to go to the Granddaddy of them all. Kurt has it wrong because Cena is the type of guy to knock Kurt Angle's ass out but if John Cena is going to do it, he's going to do it right to his face. John slapped Kurt Angle and the two wound up in a brawl until WWE officials showed up to break it up. Referee: Brian Hebner Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin vs. The APA The music of the World's Greatest Tag Team hit in the arena and they made their way out to the ring for a tag team match against the APA! Winners - Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas Backstage: Goldberg was shown arriving inside the arena and he had security with him, showing him to his seat which is a front row ticket to No Way Out! In ring promo: Paul Heyman's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring as the Smackdown! General Manager and he didn't seem too happy that Goldberg showed up to appear in the front row. Paul got in the ring and took the mic and asked Goldberg who in the hell does he think he is? Paul said that he gets it. He's Goldberg! Well sir, this is Paul Heyman, the General Manager of Smackdown! and this is the first Smackdown! pay per view of the Paul Heyman administration. Now Paul realizes that Goldberg has spent 11 months up close and personal with the inferior RAW brand but this is Smackdown! and Paul is glad he had the good taste to witness a Smackdown! pay per view but he assures Goldberg that's all he's going to do. He's going to witness a Smackdown! pay per view because if he gets up out of that seat, Paul will not hesitate to have security escort him out of the arena, have him arrested and to have him thrown in jail! As Paul was going on and on, Brock Lesnar walked down the aisle and Paul said that incase Goldberg isn't smart enough to know, here on Smackdown!, we have a saying and it's the truest saying of them all because Bill Goldberg, here comes the pain! Brock Lesnar took the mic and asked Bill how he's doing? Brock said that he came out here to prove to all of these people and to prove to Goldberg that Brock isn't intimidated by him. You see, he can sit there all night but why? Come get him right now? Paul interjected, telling Goldberg to stay right there and not listen to him. Brock asked Goldberg why would he want to confront him during his match? He's right there, right now. Paul told Goldberg not to make a move and he told Brock "enough." Brock said that Goldberg is scared and Paul continued to tell Goldberg to sit there and stay there. Brock said he knows Goldberg is scared. Stone Cold Steve Austin gave him that front row seat and he told him not to do anything that Stone Cold Steve Austin wouldn't do. Well he sits there like Stone Cold because Stone Cold would not come over that rail. Stone Cold Steve Austin would not get in this very ring with Brock Lesnar, so sit there and be the bitch that he is! Goldberg rose out of his seat, stepped over the rail and got in the ring as Paul threatened Goldberg. Goldberg went towards the middle of the ring and Brock took his shirt off and tossed it down. Goldberg did the same and laughed. Paul yelled to distract Goldberg and Brock speared Goldberg into the corner and gave him a number of shoulder blocks and then he went for the F5 but Goldberg countered it into the jackhammer slam! Paul Heyman then called for security and they came down the ramp as Goldberg smiled at them and allowed them to cuff him. Goldberg was then escorted up the ramp and out of the arena as Brock Lesnar remained in the ring in pain. Referee: Charles Robinson Rhyno vs. Hardcore Holly With Brock Lesnar still in the ring, Hardcore Holly's music hit and he made his way out to the ring and went after Brock but Brock quickly got out of the ring, still in pain and he and Paul Heyman went back to the backstage area. Rhyno's music then started playing and this is a one on one match with Rhyno against Hardcore Holly and this match was added to the pay per view earlier tonight on Sunday Night Heat. The start: Hardcore Holly met Rhyno in the aisle way and the two exchanged right hands until Holly rolled Rhyno into the ring and the two continued to go at it in the ring. Mid-match notes: Rhyno got Hardcore Holly on the top rope and Rhyno set Holly up for a top rope super plex and connected with it. Rhyno rolled over and covered Holly but only got a two count. Rhyno gave Hardcore Holly an Arn Anderson-like spinebuster and then Rhyno went to the corner to set up for the Gore. As Hardcore Holly got to his feet, Rhyno plowed through him with the Gore and then Holly wisely rolled out of the ring. Holly remained on the outside of the ring until the count of nine and when he got back in the ring, Rhyno hammered away on him. The finish: Holly was able to give Rhyno the Alabama Slam and then he pinned him for the three count to get the win! Winner - Hardcore Holly In the arena: The lights went out in the arena and some Undertaker music started playing and a video played and it said in 28 days, the dead will rise again! Winner and new Cruiserweight Champion, Chavo Guerrero Backstage: Josh Mathews was standing by to catch word with the new Cruiserweight Champion and Josh asked Chavo for his thoughts on winning the title. They stopped in front of the Eddie Guerrero door and Chavo said that he just beat all the odds out there by beating Rey Mysterio, unlike Eddie Guerrero who is a loser. He's always going to be a loser and you know why? Because he's an addict. He's addicted and you know what that means? That means there is a monkey on his back and that monkey causes him to be a loser! And you know what losers win? They don't win anything. Eddie's an addict, he's always going to be an addict, he's failing and he's this close to failing again. Eddie Guerrero looked like he was going for a figure four leg lock but he couldn't apply it correctly and Brock kicked Eddie right off of him. After a belly to belly suplex by Brock Lesnar on Eddie Guerrero, the fans heavily chanted "Goldberg, Goldberg!" to get under the skin of Lesnar. Many of Eddie Guerrero's family members were in the crowd and he hugged them as he's overcome his demons and became the new WWE Heavyweight Champion! ***end of pay per view*** What you didnt see on the pay per view: The first match, which was a Heat match, with London, Ultimo, and Kidman vs. the Tajiri group was a pretty ok match. The fans were really into that one since it was the very first match. Hell, the crowd went nuts to Toni Chimel coming into the ring to announce the rules! Then after the heat match, Torrie Wilson and Sable came out together (holding hands might I add) to introducing everyone to No Way Out! The rest of the night was also nuts. The fans were into it all the way, except for the Rhyno vs. Holly match, because it went so slow during the middle of it. I actually yawned. I high pop was when Goldberg came out through the crowd to sit down at his seat. Two kids hugged him, and security kept anyone else from touching him, but he soon disappeared after he attacked Brock and was "arrested". The rest of the matches kept the fans on their feet. The main event takes the cake. Throughout the match Eddie’s name was chanted like a mother trucker and after Eddie won the title, the roof was literally blown off. I literally took off my wife beater and began to swing it around as I screamed "VIVA LA RAZA!" over and over. After the show ended, not many wrestlers were caught driving away, but one special wrestler was bombarded in his car while trying to sneakily drive away, unsuccessfully. Kurt Angle! Security had to literally pull people off his car because it was so crazy. I came up to him and got his autograph, and I told him I loved him, and he smiled, asking my name, but he never heard it because others were pushing me away. After the main event title match ended and the cameras stopped rolling, and Eddie walked off to the biggest pop I've ever heard in my life, Brock stayed in the ring walking around. After a few minutes, he began to cry a little. He left the ring and lifted his arms to try and get a pop, but ever time he tried, the crowd would just boo the crap out of him. Only a few selected people actually cheered him (like me, even though I'm Latino, and went crazy for Eddie, even yelling "Brock, get off Eddie's Jock!"). After he stopped trying to get a pop, he left up the ramp and that was pretty much it. ***end of results*** No Way Out Results! 02-23-03 Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada Commentators: Jim Ross, Jonathan Coachman, Michael Cole, Tazz Match #1 Chris Jericho vs. Jeff Hardy The two men came to the ring; Jeff Hardy decked out with body paint, and tied up to kick the match off. Storm then got the tag and did the same and then tagged Regal back in, who went to work on him on the mat. RVD finally broke free and hit a spinning-heel kick and tagged in Kane. Kane went to work on Regal and went for the pin, but Storm stopped the count. Storm then ran back in and tried to pull Kane’s mask off. The mask was covering his eyes and RVD was pushed into him. He grabbed RVD and Chokeslammed him and allowed the Un-Americans to get the pinfall. Winner(s): Lance Storm & William Regal Josh Matthews interviewed Matt Hardy in the back and asked him about making weight for his Cruiserweight title match. He said losing 10 pounds in a week was not easy, but Mattitude is a frame of mind and it had to be done. Match #4 The Undertaker vs. The Big Show Big Show and Undertaker kicked the match off on the outside of the ring. Taker leaped off the ring apron and Show caught him and slammed him into the ringpost and then they got into the ring. Benoit came in and leveled Haas and then went after Sheldon Benjamin with repeated German Suplexes. Lesnar then went after Angle from the ring apron and Benjamin took dropkicked Lesnar to the outside to save Angle. Haas then got back in the ring and worked on Benoit in the ring. Instead of a cover, BPP hit a few push-ups in front of the crowd. Steiner then went to work on the injured leg of The Game and wrenched that leg in a hold. Steiner hit a suplex and then went to the outside and chased Flair around the ring and then punched him down on the outside. Match #7 Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Eric Bischoff Bischoff came to the ring and got the mic and said that no one wanted to see him wrestle Stone Cold. He said there is still time and he could lie down and forfeit the match. The sound of chattered glass hit the arena and The Rattlesnake came down to the ring and hit every corner of the ring to a huge pop. Bischoff was pleading to Stone Cold to let this whole thing go and settle it like men. Austin speared Bischoff and pummeled him on the mat while Bischoff tried to cover up. Austin went to work on Bischoff in the corner. He kicked the hell out of Bischoff and the crowd was going wild. Austin then took the padded gloves off Bischoff and slammed him into the turnbuckle and then stomped away at him again. The referee tried to get him to calm down and he gave him the finger. Bischoff then broke free and nailed Austin in the face and then the chest with a few martial arts kicks. Austin was not fazed one bit and laughed at his attempt. Bischoff ran out of the ring and Austin caught him and continued the assault. He cracked a beer over his head that he got from the crowd and then got him back in the ring and nailed him with the Stunner. He covered him and then let him up.
