Billy Kidman is a World Wrestling Federation fan favorite, especially with women. His movie star looks
and his wrestling arsenal is what makes this 5' 11", 195 pound grappler stick out in the wrestling crowd.
Kidman was overlooked early on his career strickly because of his size. Promoters took one look at him
and questioned as to how he would make it in a business where only the rough, tough, and massive survive.
But the WCW young gun proved them all wrong, passing a style that combines Luchador manuevers with some
classic mat moves. He also has a threshold for pain that is second to none in the business. And he needs
it with the amount of punishment he endures against his bigger foes.
What makes him so successful against these larger-than-life opponents is his quickness and versatility
in the ring. Another impressive weapon he possesses is the ability to execute the lethal Shooting Star
Press, a dazzling move made famous by Jushin "Thunder" Liger.
Kidman worked his way up the wrestling ranks by battling in many Indy federations, one beeing the ECW,
before landing in the WCW. He came onboard and immediately proved that, pound-for-pound, he was one of
the best wrestlers. He debuted as part of Raven's Flock and has been known to latch on with wrecking groups
every now and again. Another one of these cliques was the Filthy Animals, where he was a member with Konan
and Rey Mystrio Jr.
The Pennsylvania native would capture the cruiserweight title and tag straps (with Konan) within n o time,
making the other grapplers aware of what he could do in the ring in spite of his size. Heel or hero, Kidman
has what it takes to succeed in the biz. The WCW needs to focus more on "kids" like him in order to be able
to compete with the big boys.
